Blastrac Abrasives
Blastrac has abrasives engineered for durability and performance. With multiple shapes, sizes, and hardness, we have the blasting abrasive for your job. All Blastrac abrasives are packed in a double extra strong plastic bag.
Blastrac steel- shot and grit is a spherical product made of hypereutectoid steel that has been heat treated to a finely tempered marten site structure providing maximum breakdown resilience and thus extending product life. All our different types of steel- shot and grit are:
| • |
Hard - cleans rapidly and effectively. |
| • |
Resilient - has exceptional service life. |
| • |
Multiple impacts - shot multiples its efficiency by the ricochet effect. This increases the potential of the shot to reach surfaces which are inaccessible by direct blasting. |
| • |
Round - formed during manufacture and remains round throughout its service life. |
Finding the right size, shape, and hardness is essential for the best results for shot blasting, or steel blasting requirements. Listed below are the different types of steel shot and steel grit offered by Blastrac with a quick overview of their intended use.

999-0330
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
S330 Steel shot
It is used to achieve a fine to medium texture on concrete or to remove the glaze from tiles, so that, for example, slip-resistant seals can then be applied. Also for blasting old penetrative treatments, seals and coatings with a thickness of about 1mm.

999-0390
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
S390 Steel shot Standard abrasive, suitable for about 50 - 60% of all applications. It is used to remove concrete slurries from new concrete, to roughen concretes which are too smooth or to roughen natural stones, to blast coatings with a thickness of 1- 3 mm and to clean steel. It produces a medium profile on concrete.

|
999-0460
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
S460 Steel shot
It is used predominantly in the concrete and asphalt sector, for roughing up and for blasting thicker coatings. It produces a medium-rough to rough profile on concrete and a medium profile on asphalt owing to the higher operating speed.

999-0550
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
S550 Steel shot
It is used predominantly in the concrete and asphalt sector, for roughing up and for blasting thicker coatings. It produces a rough profile on concrete and a rough profile on asphalt owing to the higher operating speed.

|
999-0016
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
SG16 Steel shot
Blastrac steel angular grit is predominantly used to profile and / or creating adhesion (anchor pattern) on steel surfaces. Due to the characteristics of the steel abrasives it can be advisable to use it by removal of paint, rust, coating, antiskid and other contaminations onto steel surfaces.

999-0025
Hardness: 45-52 HRC
|
SG25 Steel shot
Blastrac steel angular grit is predominantly used to profile and / or creating adhesion (anchor pattern) on steel surfaces. Due to the characteristics of the steel abrasives it can be advisable to use it by removal of paint, rust, coating, antiskid and other contaminations onto steel surfaces.
